One of the best weeks of sports was upon us this week. The 89th Masters Tournament took place as Augusta National Golf club this past week. This was one of the most memorable Masters tournaments as Rory McIlroy completed the career grand slam to claim his first Masters victory.
I do my best not to get too political on this site. However, I am not a fan of LIV golf and their owners. The Saudi Investment Fund.
My favorite golfer used to be Brooks Kopeka. He was my favorite by a pretty wide margin. Brooks unfortunately joined the LIV tour and subsequently lost all the respect that I had for him.
My personal feelings for Bryson Dechambeau and his decision to partner with the SIF aside, there is no denying how talented of a golfer he is. I also admire how hardworking he is. His videos that he posts online are both incredibly cringy and incredibly impressive.
The man is a machine that has dedicated his life to golf. I would be interested to see how successful he could have been in other aspects of life. He strikes me as the type of person who is so determined that he would be really successful at whatever he put his mind to.
I have just finished puking from all the praise I just gave to Bryson.
All the praise aside it was incredibly entertaining to watch him fall apart today. The most arrogant golfer on the planet was knocked down a peg on a national stage. I for one enjoyed every second of it.
That is enough about Bryson. Let’s get back to the positives and the winner Rory McIlroy. The final round was one of, if not the most entertaining final rounds I have ever seen. McIlroy also becomes the first player to win The Masters despite four double bogeys during the tournament.
Rory had some amazing moments during the final round. He also had some of the worst moments that I have ever seen from a professional golfer. His third shot on the par five thirteenth hole was downright atrocious. He flubbed an approach shot from less than one hundred yards away right into the water. My heart sunk for him in that moment.
Rory also missed a very makeable eight foot put on the final hole that would have won him the tournament. He was forced to play a stellar playoff hole against Justin Rose to claim his championship.
My heart goes out for Justin Rose who was also seeking his first Masters victory. At age 44 this might be the last chance that Rose will ever get.
This was a huge win for the good guys today. The way that Rory stood up to the Saudi Investment fund when LIV golf was founded will forever make him a hero in my book.

Daredevil Born Again:
I want to talk about Daredevil Born Again for a few minutes. I have been thoroughly enjoying the show. That being said, I have not been writing about it on a weekly basis for a few reasons. The main reason being that the plot just does not feel thick enough for me to have a ton to write about episode to episode.
Since I last checked in with this show the serial killer Muse was easily disposed of. I feel that this character’s potential was not fully realized.
The show tried to surprise us by revealing that Muse’s secret identity was one of Matt’s girlfriend Heather’s psychology patients. However, we had only seen this character one time before during the season. For that reason, the reveal felt a little flat to me. The reveal would have worked much better for me if we had gotten more seasons of Heather and her patients throughout the season.
The most interesting aspect of the show to me right now is the dynamic between Matt and his new girlfriend, psychologist Heather Glenn.
At the end of the Muse storyline Heather Glenn was kidnapped and tortured by Muse. Daredevil showed up to prevent Muse from killing her. In the chaos of the traumatic fight between Muse and Daredevil, Heather got a hold of a gun and shot poor Mr. Musey to death.
Heather’s interpretation of this situation appears to be causing quite a rift between Matt and Heather. Heather who was already leaning towards the opinion of despising vigilantes with masks, seems to be heading more firmly in that direction. Her dislike of them is completely understandable. I just find it harsh that she told Matt that she did not see any difference between Muse and Daredevil. This really hurt our dude Matthew Murdock’s feelings.
Heather continued to hurt Matt’s feelings by refusing to give Daredevil any credit for saving her. She said that she saved herself. It is true that she was the one to officially put an end to Muse’s killing rampage by shooting him multiple times. However, she would have never been granted that opportunity had Daredevil not prevented Muse from killing her in the first place.
The events of the most recent episode were probably the most important of the season so far. The penultimate episode aired Tuesday on Disney Plus and had quite the dramatic ending.
The focus of the episode was a formal gala that was put on by Mayor Fisk and his wife Vanessa. Heather was invited to the gala by the Fisks. Naturally this created further tension between Matt and Heather.
Also, during this episode Bullseye escaped from jail and is determined to kill Wilson Fisk.
It was also revealed that it was Vanessa Fisk, not Wilson, who hired Bullseye to kill Foggy in the first episode.
The dramatic ending took place when Matt used his super enhanced hearing to locate Bullseye at the Gala. Bullseye was targeting Fisk with a rifle at the Gala. Matt then jumped in front of the shot and took a bullet for his arch enemy.
This is obviously a very intriguing development for the show. The foundation of the whole show is the relationship between Daredevil and Kingpin. I am very interested to see how this will change Kingpin’s feelings towards Daredevil.
I am very excited to watch the season finale next week. Matt was shot right above the heart. It will be very interesting to see how the show handles this major injury to the main character. My guess is there will be a time jump of a few months to allow him to recover.
I really hope that there is a lot of Daredevil action sequences in the finale. The show has been great at developing all of the new and returning characters. The one thing that this season has really felt like it is missing is the patented awesome action sequences we saw in previous seasons.
That is all for me this week. Please like and subscribe if you like what you are reading on my site. It would truly mean a lot to me.
A bientot!
