The Last of us Full season Reaction

Spoilers for HBO’s The Last of Us will follow.

No Jesse no! NO JESSE NO!!! NO NO NO!

The Last of Us finished their sophomore season with a bang. In one of the final scenes of the season that mean ripped girl Abbie solidified herself as the biggest villain on the show to date by killing fan favorite Jesse. I will never recover as Jesse was easily my favorite new character of the season. He was so cool, so hot, so young. Rest in peace sweet prince.

I am far from an expert on apocalypses, however, I would like to think that if I found myself in a zombie apocalypse, I would have better things to do than kill my fellow humans. My hope would be that me and my fellow humans would ban together to fight our common enemy, the zombies. After all the zombies are the ones that are trying to kill us and end humanity.

Sadly, this is far from the case in the Last of Us. For whatever reason the humans in this show are just determined to do the zombies work for them as they continue to kill each other for the stupidest reasons.

Don’t get me wrong I thoroughly enjoyed both the final episode of this season and the second season as whole. Call me old fashioned but I prefer for my zombie shows to be full of zombies. I am not positive, but I am fairly certain that there was not a single infected in this entire episode. There was still plenty of action it was just human on human violence that was featured in this episode.

The best parts of the final episode were the scenes between Ellie and Jesse. The tension between these characters was very interesting. If you can’t tell by now, I was 100% on Jesse’s side in their argument debating whether or not they should return to Jackson. He was completely justified in his desire to bring Ellie and Dina back to Jackson.

Once Ellie and Dina learned that Dina was pregnant, they should have turned around right then and there. There are no ifs ands or butts about it. When my guy Jesse learned that Dina was pregnant with his child, he was even more determined to get his friends home safely. Jesse was so noble, so pragmatic, so dead. I miss him so much.

I continue to be utterly perplexed by the war between the Scars and the WLFs. I understand the idea that they have been fighting each other for so long that they do not even remember why they are fighting at this point. I just can’t stop going back to the point that the zombie problem should be the main focus of these survivors. Not killing each other over miniscule differences.

The other highlight of the final episode was the scene where Ellie killed Abbie’s two friends in the Aquarium. Tragically the young woman who she killed was also pregnant. So many pregnant ladies in the apocalypse. I guess there is not a lot to do in an apocalypse besides fuck. People sure be fucking. I think Tommy’s wife is pregnant too! Thats three pregnant ladies in one season! People be fucking big time.

Some final thoughts about the season as whole. The second episode of this season will remain one of the greatest episodes of TV that I have ever seen. I do think that HBO might have used a majority of their budget on that episode. The action in that episode was thrilling. We also got to see more infected people in that episode than the rest of the season combined.

I was disappointed that my favorite type of infected was not introduced this season. However, that just means there is one more thing to look forward to in season three.

Thanks for reading. Please like and subscribe so my wife will continue to buy me groceries. Your boy needs to eat!
