Baseball is Steviepooooo’s favorite sport. He likes the way they throw the ball back and forth.
The dog days of summer are upon us. It’s so freaking hot outside right now. Your boy Steviepoooooo is guaranteed to be drenched in sweat within SECONDS of stepping outside. It’s so bad right now. My crotch turns into a rainforest within minutes of me being outside.
Enough about me and my hyperhidrosis. Let’s resume where I left off on Sunday and give my thoughts on the National League.
NL East
Just like the American League East, this is a very angry division. I have attended a Mets Phillies game in New York. It was so intense. Those fans DO NOT like each other.
Mets fans also called my boy, former World Series Champion with the Cubs, Kyle Schwarber, fat. He is not fat he is just a little beefy! As a fellow beefcake I need to defend my boy Schwarbs.
The Phillies have been struggling a lot recently. The division is the Mets for the taking if they want it. I think they do want it so I am picking them to be the NL East representative this October.
This division is home to the most disgusting franchise in all of Major League baseball. I am not alone in my extreme dislike for the owners and management team that oversees the Miami Marlins. They clearly do not even try to field a competitive team. I am all on board for some form of punishment to incentivize the Marlins ownership to try harder to field a competitive team.
I will admit that I also do not like them because they broke my heart when I was twelve years old. I will never ever forgive them for beating the Cubs in the 2003 NLCS. Fuck those fish! Fuck them!
NL Central
Now is the moment you have all been waiting for. It is the division closest and dearest to my heart.
They are singing Go Cubs Go! Go Cubs Go! Hey Chicago, what do you say? Your boy Steviepooooo has had way too much caffeine today.
Baseball may not be my favorite sport, but the Cubs are my favorite team amongst all professional and amateur sports. I have so many fond memories of my family and I rooting them on. My family may not agree on a lot of things, but we do agree on our love for the Cubbies. We are all going to a game together for the first time in a few years next month and I cannot wait! Wrigley is the best.
Enough about the Cubs! As much as I love them, I sadly do not think they have enough pitching to hold on down the stretch to win the division. For this reason, I am picking the Brewers and their phenomenal rookie starting pitcher, Jacob Misiorowski, to win the division.
The dude has been unreal. The Brewers have won twelve out of thirteen games in large part because of him. He has brought a new sense of enthusiasm to the franchise.
Even though the Brewers are technically a rival of the Cubs, I have had too much fun in their ballpark over the years to wish them too much bad will. The only team in this division I truly hate is the Cardinals. Fuck the Cardinals! π
NL West
The story of this division, and possibly all of baseball, the past few years has been the Los Angeles Dodgers. Even though they have not looked quite as good as they did the year prior, they are still going to make the playoffs with ease.
The Giants have been a lot better this season than they have been in years past. It has been nice to see. They are one of the best franchises in the sport. They also have one of the most beautiful ball parks. It is nice to see them be relevant.
If it were not for the Marlins, the Rockies would be the most embarrassing franchise in all of baseball. These owners also clearly could not care less about whether or not their team is successful. I hope they sell the team pronto.
Denver has never been known as a baseball town, but they have almost never had the opportunity to do so. With some rare exceptions in the late 2000’s this team has never been relevant. It would be nice to see what a competent ownership and management team could do with this franchise.
Mid-Summer World Series Prediction
Tigers over Met in 6 games. Skubal is going to win World Series MVP with three wins. He will be Madison Bumgarner 2.0
The Tigers are going to acquire some big bat this trade deadline and never look back! Let’s go Detroit!
A bientot!
