Sports fans are currently being treated to a true spectacle. This is the best World Series that I can recall since 2016. The Cubs came back from a 3-1 series deficit to defeat the Cleveland Indians in seven games. Never forget!
A lot of people, Steviepoooooo included, did not give the surging Blue Jays much of a chance in this matchup. The mighty Dodgers appeared to have the advantage both offensively, and with superior pitching. This is clearly not the case. The Blue Jays have ridden their hot lineup, lead by one of the best players in the world, Vladamir Guerro Jr, to a 3-2 series lead. They have a chance to close out the series at home on Halloween. It would be their first title since the early 90’s. Your boy was just a young turd back then! I could barely walk!
As an avid fan of the Chicago Cubs, I do not watch a lot of American league games. I had only watched the Blue Jays play a handful of times before this post season. Having them win it all, would be a very satisfying conclusion to a very entertaining Post Season.
The Blue Jays started their impressive run by upsetting the New York Yankees in the first round. This thoroughly ingratiated the Blue Jays to a national audience. The Yankees are never devoid of haters, who want to root for them to lose. The Blue Jays were able to deliver this fatal blow and sent them home packing. Vladamir Guerro Jr backed up his trash talk by batting close to five hundred with multiple home runs in the divisional round. The man has only continued his torrid pace throughout the rest of the playoffs. He is still batting close to .350. He could also easily have ten home runs in the Post Season before this series is over.
From the Dodgers perspective, the only players who have really showed up for the series are the great Shohei Ohtani, and Freddie Freeman. In the classic 18 inning game Monday night, Ohtani reached base nine freaking times! Nine! What in the world? Freddie Freeman delivered with the game winning home run in the eighteenth inning. It was such an insane back and forth game. It was the best world series game since game seven in 2016.
The main difference between the two teams is that the Dodgers pitching has been underperforming. The young Blue Jays pitching, on the other hand, has been overperforming. Trey Yesavage has made a name for himself, as one of the most exciting young pitchers in baseball. His performance last night will be remembered in Toronto forever!
This series has had everything. All time superstars in Ohtani and Vladamir Guerro Jr. Breakout young stars in Yesavage and Yamamoto. An all-time great game, game three. I cannot wait to watch the exciting conclusion this weekend!
